Before 11 AM = sit below (morning thermals fall, shoot up); After 11 AM = sit above (thermals rise, shoot down); strong forecast wind overrides to downwind. Set your min–max range from the elk + Go; the dot lands at the farthest clear-sightline spot in that band. Line of sight is checked against the real ~90 m elevation profile plus tree canopy — a cyan dot means the timber forced you INSIDE your min (it auto-moved you to the closest range you can actually see the elk — expect a still-hunt), and an amber dot means no clear shot at all within your max (stalk in). The light-green wash is forest cover (Sentinel-2) under the density heat — read both together, or toggle it via the layers control. Each setup dot casts a firing fan to its elk: the green wedge is where you have a clear shot, the amber part is where terrain or timber degrades the line of sight (toggle 🎯 Firing fans).
